Texom European Individual Ice Speedway Championship

[POL ] Kolejny raz Sanok stanie się stolicą europejskiego żużla w odmianie lodowej. Przez dwa dni toczyć się tam będzie rywalizacja o medale Texom European Individual Ice Speedway Championship. Na torze „Błonie” spotkamy się 24 i 25 lutego 2024 roku – start pierwszego wyścigu o godzinie 14.00 zarówno w sobotę jak i niedzielę.

Ice Speedway wrócił do Sanoka w 2022 roku, po ośmiu latach przerwy. Wówczas na torze „Błonie”, gdzie odbył się pierwszy z dwóch turniejów finałowych Indywidualnych Mistrzostw Europy, a także rywalizowano o Puchar Burmistrza Sanoka.

Rok później odbyła się już tylko walka o medale. I to w klasycznym wydaniu dwudniowym, a o ostatecznej kolejności decydowała łączna suma punktów, wywalczona w obu turniejach. Mistrzowski tytuł wpadł w ręce Austriaka Franza Zorna, który wyprzedził w klasyfikacji generalnej Lucę Bauera (Włochy) i Jimmiego Olsena (Szwecja). Złoty medalista powtórzył tym samym swój wyczyn z roku 2008, gdy został kontynentalnym czempionem po raz pierwszy.

Sanok śmiało można nazwać kolebką ice speedwaya w naszym kraju. Oprócz walki o medale Indywidualnych Mistrzostw Europy, odbywały się tam też Drużynowe Mistrzostwa Świata i kilka turniejów towarzyskich Sanok Cup.

European Individual Ice Speedway Championship odbędą się w Polsce już po raz piąty z rzędu. Nasz kraj tradycyjnie będzie reprezentował Michał Knapp, który w 2020 roku był trzynasty w klasyfikacji generalnej, rok później dwunasty, następnie jedenasty, a w zeszłym roku, głównie przez kłopoty sprzętowe, uplasował się na osiemnastej pozycji. Teraz będzie chciał wyraźnie się poprawić.

Formuła rywalizacji pozostaje niezmieniona. Przewiduje 20 wyścigów w fazie zasadniczej, po której dwóch najskuteczniejszych zawodników znajdzie od razu miejsce w biegu finałowym. O pozostałe dwa walka toczyć się będzie w barażu, do którego staną żużlowcy z miejsc 3-6 po fazie zasadniczej. Suma punktów, wywalczona w dwóch turniejach, wyłoni ostateczną klasyfikację, a tym samym tegorocznych medalistów. Warto dodać, że w tegorocznej edycji swoich zawodników wystawi 8 federacji. W sumie na liście startowej pojawi się tradycyjnie 18 nazwisk – 16+2 rezerwowych.

Ruszyła już sprzedaż biletów na wydarzenie w Sanoku. Przygotowano pakiety biletowe na dwa dni z ice speedwayem na torze „Błonie”, można też zaopatrzyć się w wejściówki osobno na każdy dzień. [ENG ] Once again Sanok will become the capital of European ice speedway. For two days there will be a competition for medals of the Texom European Individual Ice Speedway Championship. We will meet at the „Błonie” track on February 24 and 25, 2024 – the start of the first race at 14:00 on both Saturday and Sunday.

Ice Speedway returned to Sanok in 2022, after an eight-year break. At that time, the first of two final tournaments of the Individual Championships was held at the „Błonie” track, where the first of two final tournaments of the Individual Championships was held, as well as competition for the Cup of the Mayor of Sanok.

A year later, only the fight for medals took place. And that in the classic two-day edition, and the final order was determined by the total amount of points, won in both tournaments. The championship title fell into the hands of Austrian Franz Zorn, who overtook Luca Bauer (Italy) and Jimmy Olsen (Sweden) in the overall standings. The gold medalist thus repeated his feat from 2008, when he became continental champion for the first time.

Sanok can boldly be called the cradle of ice speedway in our country. In addition to fighting for medals of the Individual European Championships, it also hosted the World Team Championships and several friendly tournaments of the Sanok Cup.

The European Individual Ice Speedway Championship will be held in Poland for the fifth consecutive year. Our country will traditionally be represented by Michal Knapp, who was thirteenth overall in 2020, twelfth a year later, then eleventh, and last year, mainly due to equipment problems, placed eighteenth. Now he will be looking to clearly improve.

The formula for the competition remains unchanged. It provides for 20 races in the main phase, after which the two most successful riders will find a place immediately in the final race. The fight for the remaining two will take place in a barrage, which will be contested by speedway riders from places 3-6 after the main phase. The sum of points, won in the two tournaments, will determine the final classification, and thus this year’s medalists. It is worth mentioning that 8 federations will field their athletes in this year’s edition. A total of 18 names will traditionally appear on the entry list – 16+2 reserves.

Ticket packages have been prepared for two days with ice speedway on the „Blonie” track, and you can also buy tickets separately for each day. Prices are the same as last year. The condition for receiving a free ticket will be to send a copy of a document proving a severe disability. Free admission is due to both the disabled person and his/her guardian. The number of seats is limited!
